The BYU crew is confident they can get 150 miles per hour with the electric vehicle. A team of BYU students and one professor completed an engineering project extraordinaire - an electric streamlining vehicle that runs completely on renewable battery power that they’re taking up to the Salt Flats Friday to race during Bonneville Speed Week in an attempt to set a world land speed record in its class. That last part has everything to do with the kind of vehicles they work on in that garage. The floors are painted bright blue, light streams in through the many windows, a BYU racing emblem decorates one wall and there is not a drop of grease or motor oil to be seen. ![]()
